Castello di Avio
Another wonderful castle near the A-22 on the road to trento, Avio is smaller than Beseno, and equally worth a visit. There is a bit of a hike up from the parking lot, though it is not difficult.

Soave Castle, Veneto
Soave is a wonderful castle and town from many perspectives.

1. It is very reachable from the Autostrada....just one stop east of Verona.

2. It is a perfect example of a castle whose walls completely embrace the accompanying village.

3. It offers multiple ring walls, living spaces that help you understand life here as a military fort.

4. speaking from experience, it's a fun place to take a family, both for the castle and the town.

Marostica, Veneto
Marostica, famed for its biennial live-action chess competitions, is dominated by a wonderful lower and upper castle, both joined by the encircling walls of the town.

Gorizia Castle, Friuli
Gorizia Castle, very near the Italian border with Slovenia, is a wonderfully-preserved fortress, and very enjoyable to visit.

Dating back to the 12th Century, this massive structure offers extensive furnished rooms, wonderful views...a great castle experience.
