There exists in Italy a club which names exceptional villages,   ... The most beautiful  Villages of Italy.

The villages are listed by region, with between about 10 and 20 villages in each region.  They are chosen for their historic, cultural, and touristic value.    Many of these villages are unknown outside of their regions...hidden gems, if you will.

Discovering these villages and deciding for ourselves if they are worthy of the designation "Most Beautiful Village of Italy," has become an enjoyable pasttime for us.  In some areas, we have visited nearly all of them, while in other regions we have visited very few.

We will list here some of our favorites.  As we continue to explore Italy, this list will expand.  We would love your feedback to know of your favorite villages in Italy!
